JB PureMix

PureMix is a Dual Pan, Stereo and Mid/Side mixer to control width, phase and low‑end.

This started out as a dual pan Max device, based on the ideas in AirWindows PurestDualPan and built in Gen~. I kept adding features, particularly after playing with the great B.S. Utility device.

In this device you get:

• Dual Panning with independent Left and Right channel gain and pan control.
• Switch between Stereo/Left/Right/Swap/Mono; useful for quick channel management before M/S processing.
• Independent Mid and Side gain controls with a solo option.
• Side High Pass Filter with control over the filter slope. This is a gentle filter to remove low end energy from the side channel. Does not affect the mid channel.
• Bass Mono Left/Right Crossover Filter. The lows and highs are separated with a 24db crossover filter and the lows can be summed to mono or routed from the left / right channel only. The low band becomes identical in Left and Right so the side low band cancels.
• (If you use both the Side HPF and Bass Mono Crossover, the low end content will be hit twice, recommend using one or the other. Or do whatever you feel like!)
• Phase Correlation Meter, which shows stereo coherence from -1 (phase problems) to +1 (minimal or no phase problems).
• Master Gain knob, with a selector to adjust the increments of gain as you move the knob. In mixing, it's sometimes much easier to move in consistent increments across your elements. This lets you select how big you want your gain move to be.
